Tessa Thompson

Tessa Lynn Thompson, an singer and actress of Los Angeles was born in 1983. She is the daughter of singer-songwriter Marc Anthony Thompson and the niece of actor-musician Bobby Ramos. She was raised at home in Los Angeles before moving to Brooklyn, New York. She is of Mexican, British Isles and Afro-Panamanian descent. Thompson studied at Santa Monica High School where she took part in a variety of theatre productions. Following graduation, she was enrolled in Santa Monica College, where she received a bachelor's degree in the field of cultural Anthropology. She performed as Juliet in the play by William Shakespeare "Romeo and Juliet" in a production performed in the Boston Court Theatre in Pasadena, California. It was her nomination for the NAACP Theatre Award in the same season. In addition to the scene, in 2005 Tessa made her first television appearance when she starred in the CBS show Tessa Tessa Tessa
